hotel in this beautiful area of East Lothian.
Sitting opposite 13th Century Dirleton Castle with the open aspect of the
village g reen the hotel offers a relaxing respite from the burdens of everyday
life. Enjoy an afternoon reading in one of our pleasant lounges, which in
winter are made even more cosy with the real log fires or in summer sit out in
the courtyard and listen to the sounds of the birds. For those wishing for a
little actions there are lovely walks around the village, whilst a visit to the
castle is a must. The surrounding villages � North Berwick with its interesting
little shops and Seabird Centre, Gullane with a super beach and Haddington the
market town with, again, interesting shops and St Mary�s Church are all places
worth a visit. Golf, of course, surrounds us. Spoilt for choice, the golfer has
almost twenty courses to choose from ensuring there is one for all standards of
play.
After a pleasant day out you can return to your comfortable
room. Most of our bedrooms are front-facing overlooking the castle but we also have four garden rooms suitable for
those less able to climb stairs or for our legged friends, who are always
welcome when well behaved. You can look forward to a well-cooked and delicious
dinner as our Chefs take great pride in sing fresh ingredients from local
suppliers and the busy restaurants are a testimony to their skill. Choose
either the bright, informal Deveau�s restaurant with its wide choice of dishes
or the Library our intimate �fine-dine� restaurant with its sophisticated,
tantalising menu. We shall all try to ensure your stay.
